Sonic: "Hey, long time no see Moto-brain. Haven't seen you "Goomba's" since my first adventure".

Motobug: "Shut up!..... I kill you!"

Sonic with the newly design Motobug that will be in Sonic 4. They are described as the first badnik Sonic encountered. A very nice redesign too, it fit's well with the SA era artwork.

Crabmeat, Masher/Jaws and Batbrain are other Badniks that have been seen in concept art so far, I'll do pics of those eventually.

Motobugs were also in Sonic colors, along with a lot of the original badniks.

Poor, poor Motobug. All these years, and he STILL gets no respect. The terrorist-y accent might have something to do with it...

Anyhoo, that's one slick redesign. The bigger engines and scythe-arms sharply contrast the cutesy ladybug body of the (obviously disgruntled) Motobug, and Sonic's laid-back pose is both in-character and well-drawn. Pity the new-and-improved Badnik is probably going to die every bit as quickly as its predecessors...

Sad but true. At least not until Sonic Team makes a game where Sonic gets a Badnik as a partner...dear god, can you imagine how badly they'd screw up "Paper Sonic"?

I would love to see a Paper Sonic RPG, but yeah, Sonic Team would screw that up in some insane way, unless they let Nintendo handle that.

Heck I think Bioware did a good job with Sonic Chronicles, if Sonic team made that game, it might have been worse, well maybe.

Well, in theory it could work very well (especially if it goes off one of the many Freedom Fighter continuites, aka instant partner ideas), but the potential for screwups is also dangerously high (not to mention comparisons to Paper Mario and Sonic Chronicles). It would definitely be interesting, to say the least-the Freedom Fighters have lots of potential for the sort of partner/character swapping used in the Mario RPGs...
