Good ol' Sonic the Hedgehog 2: Game number 2, 2 players, 2 times the fun and a fox with 2 tails. Good times.
Poor Miles Prower has been made fun of all his early childhood cause of his freakish two tails (I guess the local kids and townfolk thought of him as a demonic kitsune or something). Till the day a certain "Way past Cool" blue hedgehog came to Westside Island and Tails embarked on a journey with him to stop Robotnik from building the Death Egg.
I do miss the old Tails, the kid who was a curious, playful and adventurous little scamp who always loved to journey with his hero. Tails has gotten TOO SMART AND NERDY now. Tails barely shows his adventurous side anymore in the games. Tails can be smart, but not TOO smart
At least he's still his cool self in the Archie and Fleetway adaptions. It was funny in Sonic Universe 13 when Sal and Khan show curtisy and introduce themselves formally to the Bride of Endless Reach when greeting her and Sonic and Tails act all cool and don't really give a damn. XD

I wish Tails was mostly back to his old sympathetic kid personality, but kept his obvious intelligence and competence. I'd like to point out though that Tails was ALWAYS a genius. It just wasn't as obvious in the Classic Era because there was no dialogue from him. Even in Sonic 2, Tails was brilliant enough to pilot a plane and even repair it with a rocket nonchalantly, and that's not even getting into Tails Adventure where he builds all sorts of gadgets. I don't mind him being a Gadgeteer Genius foil to Eggman as long as he keeps being sweet-natured and idealistic and HUMBLE, most importantly, because the Insufferable Genius he is as of Colors is completely unsympathetic to me. You know it's bad when in Lost World Tails was acting even more petty and arrogant than Eggman. " I'm sorry you got stuck with a voice chip that looked like it was built by a two-year-old. " That made Eggman look like the mature one. Didn't mean to rant, it's just that I prefer Tails being a sympathetic sweet little kid, and I don't mind him staying out of the action as long as he's still useful to the plot in other ways, but I'd prefer being able to play as him.
