I don't know too much on STC stuff, but I know that it's Super Sonic it's one of it's icons, well recognized in the Sonic community.

Oh dear 
i wonder if its because Sonic has lack of control from the chaos emeralds....its like this version of Sonic is created of the negative chaos emerald energy combined with stress and lack of control while the other one is with the positive chaos emerald energy sonic's will and control.
