A giant, indestrutible robot that's part of Eggmans Egg Fighter series that appeared in Unleashed. This robot appears in certain areas where it'll "Intercept" Sonic and chase him through a small part of the level. Armed with a giant laser canon on each of it's orb- like segments, powerful fist, chainsaws and and generate a shockwave when it smashes the ground, this makes the Intercepter a dangerous bot to come about.

It's also one of the fastest robots around, it can keep up with Sonic even when he's breaking the sound barrier.

It appears on the Great Wall in Chun-nan, the jungles in Adabat, and the Brooklyn bridge at Empire City. The Wii/PS2 version is a little different than the Xbox/PS3 version

Dude, if these are the big guys you face in Apotos and Eggmanland, they're super easy, all you have to do is run as fast as possible and dodge its attacks with quick-step. Eventually, you'll head to a point where the thing smashes itself against the wall. You can also take your time and defeat it and watch it beat itself up (it's hysterical).

Yay! The Interceptor! I don't remember any laser attacks, unless that was in the 360 and the PS3 versions.

Whoa, I've never even HEARD of this one! I could've sworn that the Interceptor was the semi-official name for that robot Eggman uses against Sonic in the intro of Sonic Unleashed...but that's just me. Certainly looks a thousand times scarier than Zero (or E-100 Alpha)...
